IOM Stamps – Highlighting the Careers of Joey Dunlop and Geoff Duke

To mark the achievements of Joey Dunlop’s collaboration with Honda during the TT Races, Isle of Man Post has joined forces with the Joey Dunlop Foundation to promote products issued by the Post Office at both the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT Races.

Kevin Quirk, Trustee of the Joey Dunlop Foundation commented, “We are delighted to have teamed up with the Post Office to promote these very special items in addition to our own Joey Dunlop memorabilia and motorcycle tombola, which is synonymous with the TT. We will be at the North West 200 in the paddock area and also at the back of the TT Grandstand during TT fortnight”.

The Joey Dunlop Foundation offers specialised accommodation for disabled visitors at its base at Braddan Bridge, where they have an unrivalled view of the riders as they hurtle down from Quarter Bridge before taking the left hand bend at Braddan Church.

With plans in the pipeline to build two further apartments by TT 2014, the Joey Dunlop Foundation is already pressing ahead with its fundraising in order to raise money for their latest project.

Representatives from Isle of Man Post have been working with both Honda and the Dunlop family in preparation for this latest release, and have secured one of Joey’s red trademark T-shirts (kindly donated by the Dunlop family) which forms part of this limited edition.

But Isle of Man Post will also be celebrating the illustrious career of another famous TT competitor who still lives on the Island. Geoff Duke will be celebrating his 90th birthday and in recognition Isle of Man Post will be issuing a special souvenir package to mark the event.
